Panther Integrated Beacon

This Pathfinder™ Beacon™ is integrated into the Sperian®/Survivair® Panther SCBA (both the 1998 and 2002 NFPA 1981 compliant versions). Fully automated, it leaves the firefighter to focus on the more important tasks at hand. All the firefighter has to due to ensure Pathfinder coverage, is turn on the air. When the cylinder valve is opened and the SCBA is charged, COMPASS (the integrated PASS device) and the Beacon turn on. When COMPASS alarms, the Beacon transmits the Pathfinder signal, allowing the firefighter to be located QUICKLY.

The Panther Integrated Beacon provides redundant coverage on both the front AND back sides of the firefighter. This seamless integration is possible because the Beacon is actually hard-wired into the electronics. Any COMPASS unit on any Panther SCBA can be upgraded with the Panther Integrated Beacon.

    Firefighter does not have to remember to "turn on" the Beacon for proper operation.

    In addition to automatic operation, the streamlined Beacon is permantely and securely mounted to the SCBA, preventing the firefighter from "forgetting" or misplacing it on the fireground.
  • NFPA 1981 Certified
    Compliant for use with Panther® SCBAs under NFPA 1981, Standard on Open-Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for Emergency Services, 1998 and 2002 Editions.
  • Certified Intrinsically Safe
    Meets or exceeds the requirements of UL913 for use in Class 1, Division 1, Group A, B, C and D Hazardous Locations.
  • CBRN Protection
    NIOSH certified to protect from SC/PD/CBRN for NFPA 1981, 2002 Edition Panther SCBAs.

  • DoublePASS
    Remote PASS alarm on back of firefighter (95+ dBA @ 10 feet).
